Phillippine K-Pop Convention - Happy Hallyu Day

PKCI (The Philippine K-POP Convention Inc.) is a community established in 2009 and it is in fact an integration of several small-scale K-Pop Communities. It is carrying out nonprofit activities to connect passion and energy of the Filipino fans with positive and valuable activities. Furthermore, the profits obtained from many events are contributed to diverse fields including the academic world, animal protection and social development.

Happy Hallyu Day was held under the theme of the beauty of Korea. By inviting the chief editor, Ms. Gigi of the local Filipino magazine of Hallyu "Sparkling Magazine", some beautiful tourist sites of Korea were introduced to the public. Also, RJ Roque, fashion stylist and editor of a beauty magazine "Meg Magazine" proceeded with a program introducing fashions of K-Pop artists. Additionally, K-Pop Cover dance was also organized.

London Korean Drama Club - K-Drama Forum
London Korean Drama Club - K-Drama Forum

London Korean Drama Club is the most known Korean Drama society of the UK established in 2014. It is a community composed of the local fans who are fond of Korean dramas and promote them to British people, and who are in charge of reflecting the current state of Korean dramas inside the UK such as selecting the most popular Korean drama and best Korean actor of the year oriented to the Community members. 

Moderated by Amanda Groom, expert in joint work with Korea, the Forum started with the presentations of  Italian Alessia Gambaro and Turkish Nilufer Kuyrl, both experts in the European drama script market. They talked about the current state of both countries regarding Korean drama remakes. Moreover, the Turkish presenter showed the teaser trailer of "Winter Sun (Show TV, 2016)", the remake of Korean Drama "Resurrection (cast: Uhm Tae-woong, Han Ji-man, Go Joo-won). The presentation was followed by an enthusiastic Q&A session with the participants.

Korean Discovery Club - K-culture event
Korean Discovery Club - K-culture event

Unlike other Communities mainly composed of students who major in the Korean Language, Korea Discovery Club (hereafter, "KDC") is a Community established in 2009 in Foreign Trade University void of the Department of Korean Language. Not only students of the university, but also anyone who is interested in the Community activities can join the Club.

Replay 2016 is a K-Drama genre. In the first place, based on plans and sample videos of preliminary participants, the team that can advance to the finals through previous evaluations will be selected. In the finals, the final selection team will be determined through Korean Drama dubbing and a Korean Quiz previously given. During the event, plenty of performances such as K-Pop Cover dance and Samulnori were provided.

2015 Hallyu Community Com-On Soiree in France

French Hallyu communities came together to host the 'Hallyu Com-On Soiree'. Featuring four kiosks, ‘K-Food', 'K-Pop', 'K-Traditional Art‧Game', the event also included a performance by the 3rd place winner of the K-POP contest held by Centre Culturel Coréen à Paris.

London: London KPop Dance Workshop’s LoKo 2nd Anniversary Workshop

London K-pop Dance Workshop, consisting of K-pop fans, has been hosting regular K-pop dance workshops since 2011. To mark their second anniversary, the community held “LoKo 2nd Anniversary Workshop.” Some 50 participants came to the workshop led by the community director and K-pop dance trainer Tammy, and learned the choreography of four K-pop songs by EXO, B1A4 and other hot groups. For the second anniversary, the community gave away CDs and DVDs as game prizes. On the eve of the event, they organized a K-pop flash mob at Trafalgar Square.
