Turkish Hallyu Community: JYJ Turkey’s First JYJ Festival

The first part of the event put on a flash mob at the Ozgurluk Park in Istanbul. The second part was a party that kicked off with a video message from JYJ. There were fan art booths and Korean food to try. In Part 3, the participants put on K-pop cover dance performances and played Hangul games.

Mexican Community: Hallyu Mexican Lovers’ An Jae-wook Fanclub Event

The ninth anniversary of An Jae-wook’s fan club was celebrated with a party. The members ate Korean food and watched videos of K-pop concerts. The organizers also came up with a game titled “Korea Lotto” to check people’s impressions of Korea.

Brazilian Community: K-POP Station’s Korean Culture Day

K-POP Station prepared a program to help K-pop fans share their interests with their parents. The event also attempted to spread Korean culture in Brazil and teach people about its roots. The participants not only attended traditional dance and Hallyu dance workshop, but also enjoyed Korean food, Korean art exhibit and traditional games.

Mexican Hallyu Community: Mexicorea’s Drama and Movie Screening

Mexicorea hosted an online event titled “Things I Know about Korea” and selected seven best videos to screen. In August and September, it screened “Speedy Scandal” and three other Korean films. Mexicorea organized a lantern workshop that drew in 200 people who wanted to try their hands at making lotus lanterns. It also hosted a photo exhibit that captured the daily life in Korea.

UNSW Kpop Society Dance Workshops, Australia

A regular K-pop dance workshop took place every Friday for 2 hours from August 10 to October 5, 2012. The members mastered the dances of six songs, including F(x)’s “Electric Shock,” SISTAR’s “Loving You,” and T-ara’s “Sexy Love.”
