2016 Cultural ODA Project in Poland

  • "Creation of base for overseas expansion and convergence of Hallyu" is a project initiated with the purpose of inducing social responsibility of enterprises and activating international cultural exchanges at the private level. Since the project started in 2012, it has been settled as a successful private-public cooperation model for creation of bases for overseas expansion based  on Hallyu.

    This activity was carried out in Krakow, near the Power Plant of household waste of POSCO E&C. Composed of 24 Korean college volunteers, as the service team "Happy Builder" and 15 volunteer members from The Jagiellonian University of Krakow, a variety of activities of corporate social responsibility were provided, including Korean culture and arts education, establishment of Multi-Media Room, and a bilateral cultural exchange Festival. 

    Oriented to 130 students of School No. 14 of Krakow, for 4 days from June 27th to the 30th, an array of cultural and arts education programs have been offered ranging from Korean fan dances and making handicraft, to K-Pop music classes (song and dance) and UCC productions. Moreover, on July, 1st, Multi-Media equipment including computers as well as Hallyu contents (K-Pop CD and Animation DVD) were donated and the opening ceremony of the Multi-Media Room was held. 

    On July 2nd, the last day, the bilateral cultural exchange festival "Korea-Poland Harmony Festival" was held at the Opera House of Krakow (Opera Krakowska), under the theme of "Beauty of cultural harmony between Korea and Poland".
